Document Description
To conduct four (4) geotechnical explorations along the crown of the south levee of Lindsey Slough. The data collected will be used to determine future levee improvements and repairs. The existing paved Liberty Island Road will be used for access to the site. Construction activities will include clearing and grubbing existing vegetation in the work areas and ground disturbance by a truck-mounted drill rig and equipment to backfill the borehole. The exploration activities consist of four 6-to-8-inch diameter geotechnical exploration borings drilled to maximum depth of 90 feet, or to refusal, below existing ground, collecting soil samples using split-spoon sampling and Shelby tube sampling, and backfilling the boreholes with grout the same day of drilling, placed to depth by a tremie. The backfill shall be in accordance with County Standards and California Code of Regulations, Title 23, Waters, Division 1, (Title 23) standards.
