Document Description
The State Water Board is funding the Project referred to internally as Bonita Elementary School Consolidation with City of Santa Maria. The components of the Project to be funded by the State Water Resources Control Board include the consolidation of Bonita Elementary School (School) with the City of Santa Maria (City) via approximately 8,100 linear feet of a two-inch diameter service line from the planned terminus of the City’s water system near the City’s wastewater treatment plant to the School. The existing on-site well and 10,000-gallon storage tank at the School will be repurposed for non-potable use to meet peak demand, fire flow requirements, and irrigation demand. A hydropneumatic tank with a maximum capacity of 1,000 gallons, an air compressor, above-grade piping, and isolation valves may be added to meet peak flow demands. Minor piping modifications will be made to disconnect the School’s existing onsite well system from its potable water system, after which the School will connect to the City’s municipal water supply. Other improvements include installation of blowoffs along the pipeline, replacement of interior lead service lines in an existing building, and other appurtenances on the School’s property.
