Document Description
The Berkeley Innovation Zone – North Building project would be the second building to be developed at the Berkeley Innovation Zone, a 1.86-acre UC Berkeley property in downtown Berkeley. The North Building project (approximately 169,000 gross square feet) would provide wet laboratories and flexible scale-up space for campus faculty and researchers and campus-affiliated entrepreneurs and their collaborators in life sciences, genomics, and affiliated disciplines. The building would be seven floors including a penthouse and mechanical area on the rooftop. A partial basement would be located below grade on the western end of the building. The project will include a courtyard to the south to provide space for informal gatherings and group events.
