Document Description
The proposed project would replace the existing solid waste transfer station and Materials Recovery Facility (MRF) with new facilities and ancillary buildings designed to enhance recycling and solid waste operations, improve on-site traffic flow, serve the community’s existing and future needs, and replace outdated buildings. The project would include demolition of existing facilities and construction of a new 45,500-square-foot transfer station, a 35,000-square-foot MRF, a 14,000-square-foot vehicle maintenance building, a 17,700-square-foot administrative building, a public recycling center with buyback and free recycling drop-off areas, truck parking, fueling facilities, and associated site improvements. Off-site roadway, pedestrian, and landscaping improvements would also occur along Second and Gilman streets.
