Document Description
This proposed project involves the conversion of Palmdale Ditch from an open channel into a buried 48-inch diameter pipeline for a length of approximately 7.2 miles encompassing approximately 84.7 acres. Initial clearing and grubbing activities would result in direct removal of WJT. Any WJT outside of the direct impact area but within the 50-foot project buffer would remain but are considered encroached upon.
The Project will result in incidental take of 888 western Joshua trees (Yucca brevifolia). which are protected under the WJTCA and the California Endangered Species Act. The WJTCA ITP referenced above as issued by CDFW authorizes incidental take of western Joshua tree that may occur as a result of Project implementation.
