Document Description
The project includes entitlements for a new substation, new transmission lines, and new transmission poles within the River District, to bring increased electrical capacity to the surrounding area. The project consists of demolition of existing on-site structures and construction of a new substation with up to six 115/21 Kilovolt (kV) transformers, including up to 9 miles of overhead and underground 115 kV and 21 kV connections into the substation from nearby existing SMUD facilities and infrastructure. The following entitlements were approved: a) a Transmission Facilities Permit for a substation and transmission lines; and b) Site Plan and Design Review for a substation and associated transmission lines and transmission poles, with a deviation to height standards for transmission poles.
