Document Description
Amend the County General Plan to re-designate cannabis as controlled agriculture, and amend Chapter 26 of the Sonoma County Code to revise regulations and permitting requirements for commercial cannabis uses and personal cultivation. The proposed zoning ordinance would allow most cultivation and supply chain uses in the commercial and industrial zones by-right. In agricultural and resource zones, the zoning ordinance would increase setbacks for cannabis cultivation, allow larger cultivation areas, and allow more uses accessory to cultivation, including processing, packaging and labeling, limited manufacturing, farm retail sales, and visitor-serving uses.
Amend Chapter 4 of the Sonoma County Code to add Article X to establish a local business license program. Amend Chapter 30 of the Sonoma County Code to amend the local Right to Farm Ordinance to include cannabis in the definition of agricultural operation.
