Document Description
The project consists of the engineering, replacement and construction activities needed to replace the Bank 1 Transformer at Northview Substation. The scope of work includes the following: (1) Replacement of Bank 1 Transformer with a new 28MVA autotransformer using the existing foundation, grounding and conduit; (2) Addition of 3 new 833 KVA regulators, bypass switch and aluminum bus with steel structure supports on new concrete foundations; (3) New 2-3” dia. underground PVC conduit from regulators to control house and new grounding connections; and (4) Replacement of existing electromechanical relays with relays with microprocessors, which contain two primary relays, auxiliary relays, and controllers.

The project is exempt under Section 15302 (Class 2 exemption) for the reason that they entail the replacement or reconstruction of existing structures and facilities where the new structure will be located on the same site as the structure replaced and will have substantially the same purpose and capacity as the structure replaced, this exemption includes but is not limited to the replacement or reconstruction of existing utility systems and/or facilities involving negligible or no expansion of capacity.
