Document Description
The Sierra Nevada Conservancy (SNC) would amend grant agreement 1547 Magalia Forest and Wildfire Resilience Project with the Butte County Fire Safe Council (BCFSC) to authorize the use of grant funds for approximately 27 acres of fuels-reduction activities in Noble Park and Oak Creek Park and adjacent parcel in Paradise, Butte County, California. Noble Park and Oak Creek Park are both owned by Paradise Recreation and Park District (PRPD); the parcel adjacent to Oak Creek Park is privately owned. In Noble Park, the BCFSC would partner with the Prescribed Burn Association to implement an approximately 10-acre, low-intensity broadcast burn to address noxious blackberry and star thistle weeds, as well as address overgrowth of grasses and fuels. In Oak Creek Park, treatments including, but not limited to, grazing; hand cut and pile burn; broadcast burn; lop and scatter would occur on approximately 12 acres. On the privately owned parcel adjacent to the east side of Oak Creek Park, treatments including, but not limited to, grazing; hand cut and pile burn; lop and scatter would occur on approximately five acres.
