Document Description
The California Department of Fish and Wildlife (CDFW) has executed Lake and Streambed Alteration Agreement (EPIMS-MEN-31384-R1C), pursuant to Fish and Game Code section 1602, the project Applicant, John Smith, representing the City of Fort Bragg. The Project is limited to six (6) encroachments for the City of Fort Bragg Raw Water Pipeline Project. Work for these encroachments will include excavation, dewatering, and backfilling and compaction of fill. Encroachment 1 includes a section of the raw water pipeline that will be attached to the side of an existing bridge over Newman Gulch on the Georgia Pacific haul road. The bridge pipe hang will be approximately 50-feet long and at each end of the bridge, the pipeline will transition from within the road shoulder onto the bridge. Each transition area will be approximately 10 feet long. Construction will occur from the bridge deck and roadway approaches and include minor vegetation trimming within the transition areas. Encroachments 2 – 5 include removal, repair or replacement of existing culverts on an unnamed tributary to Noyo River. SC-1 – replace existing culvert with a minimum 27-inch diameter by 30-foot long reinforced concrete pipe (RCP) culvert; SC-2 – replace an existing culvert with a minimum 2-foot by 5*foot wide by 20-foot long box culvert; SC-3 – replace an existing culvert with a minimum 27-inch diameter x 35-foot long RCP culvert; and SC-4 – replace an existing culvert with a minimum 3-foot by 6-foot wide and 15-foot long concrete box culvert. Work for these encroachments will include excavation, removal of the existing crossing, installation of the new crossing, backfilling and compaction of fill, and rock armoring as necessary to minimize erosion.
