Document Description
The California Department of Fish and Wildlife (CDFW) has executed Lake and Streambed Alteration Agreement (EPIMS-MEN-49514-R1C), pursuant to Fish and Game Code section 1602, the project Applicant, John Smith, representing the City of Fort Bragg. Work for the Hare Creek pipeline replacement will include dewatering and open trench excavation using hand tools and a small excavator to replace approximately 100 feet of the existing pipeline segment under Hare Creek. The Covington Gulch Debris Removal will consist of the removal of approximately 881.5 cubic feet of debris from Covington Gulch, including tires, appliances, and car parts using hand tools. Work will also include slope stabilization and erosion control along the hillside using logs and branches sourced from the trees proposed for removal as part of the associated water line project. In addition, “seed” material (two small wood structures containing logs with root balls and logs with branches) will be placed within Covington Gulch to fill the voids in the bed and bank of the stream from the debris removal. Work will be completed as described in the Covington Gulch Debris Removal Mitigation Proposal submitted to CDFW on August 26, 2024.
