Document Description
The State Water Resources Control Board (State Water Board) is a Responsible Agency for the Project. The State Water Board is funding the Project referred to internally as Water System Improvement Project. This is a split funded (two phased) Project. The first phase is funded through a grant from the Department of Water Resources (DWR) and Phase 2 is expected to be funded through the State Water Board. Phase 2 of the Project includes constructing a new well building positioned above the 100-year floodplain, complete with upgraded pump and controls to safeguard the single source of water against potential flooding and water source contamination. Additionally, a new booster pump station and chlorine dosing equipment will be installed to eliminate the necessity of chlorinated water traversing Paynes Creek, streamlining water distribution to customers situated north of Highway 36. Moreover, the installation of approximately 16,000 feet of mainlines, along with new service connections and hydrants, will replace the reliance on portable water tanks for existing customers located north of Highway 36. The Project further includes the installation of approximately 300 feet of waterline under Highway 36 in a dedicated Caltrans 12-inch culvert and implementation of two new pressure reducing mainline stations and 122 individual service pressure regulating valves, augmenting water delivery efficiency. Additionally, a 150,000-gallon bolted steel tank will be constructed at the Canyon View Tank site, accompanied by the integration of solar panels to power tank controls and telemetry equipment, ensuring sustainable and reliable operation.
