Document Description
The project would involve merging two existing parcels, demolishing the existing eight-unit, 5,104 square-foot building and surface parking lot, removing the existing trees, and constructing a new seven-story mixed use building with 222 apartment units and 3,836 square feet of commercial space on the ground floor. The project would also include internal walkways, landscaping, stormwater management features, and common open space amenities. The project would include a maximum building height of 7 stories, or 78 feet and 9 inches. In accordance with CEQA, the City of Berkeley prepared a 15183 Consistency Checklist demonstrating that the prior environmental analysis in the original EIR certified in 2023 adequately addresses the potential environmental effects of the project, and the project does not require subsequent environmental review pursuant to CEQA Guidelines Section 15183, and supports the City's finding that the project would not result in significant new issues nor exceed the level of impacts identified in the previously certified 2023 EIR requiring additional analysis under CEQA.
