Document Description
The California Department of Fish and Wildlife (CDFW) has executed Lake and Streambed Alteration Agreement (EPIMS-SJN-50846-R3), pursuant to Fish and Game Code section 1602, the project Applicant, William Stokes, Reclamation District #348.
The Project consists of rehabilitating 3 levee sections, totaling 4,350 linear feet, along the South Mokelumne River between levee stations 242+50 and 268+00, 293+00 and 300+00, and 311+00 and 322+00. The work on the levee waterside consists of the excavation of levee sections to construct a riparian bench, the placement of soil filled riprap along the levee slope, and planting native species on the riparian bench and setback levee waterside slope. The work on the levee landside consists of placing as compacted embankment and replacing aggregate base on the levee crown. The compacted embankment will consist of imported fill material as well as salvaged fill material from the riparian bench excavation. Generally, the levee setback sections will feature a 16-foot-wide embankment crest, 2:1 waterside slope, and 3:1 landside slope to meet Delta Specific PL 94-99 standards.
