Document Description
Under the proposed project, 33.2 acres of previously irrigated orchard would be fallowed and replaced with non-irrigated multibenefit cover crops that provide pollinator habitat, improve soil health, and enhance potential wildlife habitat. In addition, an existing 1.4-acre constructed basin currently used to support irrigation operations would be repurposed to provide active groundwater recharge. The previously constructed basin would utilize an existing pipeline connection to the Turlock Main Canal surface water supply to actively recharge groundwater during periods of GSA or TID-provided water availability.
