Document Description
Approval of Permit No. 20085, under California Code of Regulations, Title 23, Article 3, Section 6, for work within an adopted plan of flood control: To install ten (10) fiber optic conduits, two (2) overhead sign structures, one (1) toll reader, and remove one (1) existing overhead sign structure along Interstate 80 within the Yolo Causeway corridor. Fiber optic conduits consisting of 2-inch and 3-inch diameter polyvinyl chloride (PVC) Schedule 80 pipes will be surface-mounted to existing bridge rails, median barriers, bike path barriers, and concrete barriers, and installed below grade within roadway fill sections where necessary, at depths up to approximately three feet below ground surface. All bridge mounted conduits will be above the bridge low chord. Transverse conduit crossings beneath the roadway and medians are also included and will be installed using directional drilling methods. One (1) overhead sign structure supported on a 60-inch-diameter, 24-foot-long cast in drilled hole (CIDH) pile foundation will be installed within a median barrier located in the Yolo Bypass fill section. The existing overhead sign structure near the Unit No. 02 East Levee will be removed and replaced with a new overhead truss sign structure facing eastbound traffic. The existing piles will be removed to approximately three feet below ground surface, with the remaining pile portions abandoned in place. The new structure will be supported on CDIH pile foundations consisting of one 60-inch-diameter, 42-foot-long pile and one 72-inch-diameter, 29-foot-long pile, within the landside slope of the Unit No. 02 East Levee embankment.
