Document Description
The California Department of Fish and Wildlife (CDFW) has executed Lake and Streambed Alteration Agreement EPIMS-SHA-25863-R1, pursuant to Fish and Game Code section 1602, the project Applicant, City of Redding, as represented by Amber Kelley.
The projects are limited to the undergrounding of two discontinuous segments of Calaboose Creek for the purpose of installing a sidewalk to improve pedestrian access and safety on the eastside of Oregon Street. The completion of the project will encompass earthwork, culvert extension, drainage modification, vegetation removal, utility relocation, paving, sign installation, and striping. A total of approximately 460-linear-feet of 4-foot by 8-foot, and 5-foot by 10-foot, box culvert will be installed within the two open channel segments of Calaboose Creek along Oregon Street, between existing undergrounded box culverts. The new sidewalk, curb, and gutter will be constructed over the subsurface box culvert.
The project will impact a total of 0.111 acre (460 linear feet) of stream, including 0.023 acre (107 linear feet) of temporary impact to a concrete-lined segment of channel and 0.088 acre (353 linear feet) of permanent impact to a segment of channel with natural substrate. In addition, the project will permanently impact 0.032 acre of fresh emergent wetland. Six trees with a diameter at breast height (DBH) of 6- to 12-inches, and approximately twelve trees with a DBH of 6-inches or less, including one valley oak, will be removed over the course of project activities.
