Document Description
The California Department of Fish and Wildlife (CDFW) has executed Amendment no. 1 to Streambed Alteration Agreement number EPIMS-STA-18126-R4, issued to the County of Stanislaus. The Agreement authorizes activities related to maintenance on the East Las Palmas Avenue Bridge over the San Joaquin River. The primary goal of maintenance is to clean the existing steel casings that surround the 28 concrete
bridge columns, located between piers 4 and 8, and install new supplemental grouted steel column/pile encasements around the existing steel casings. The amendment includes changes in project methods to replace the use of a trestle for access during construction with a system installed by accessing from the bridge deck from
above and the use of floating crane mats, and changes to an Agreement measure to protect nesting birds. Related changes to Protective Measures in the Agreement are made to address project changes to use in-water floating equipment and to remove requirements related to vegetation replacement that are no longer needed because trees will no longer be removed.
