Document Description
Approval of Permit No. 3283-4, under California Code of Regulations, Title 23, Article 3, Section 6, for work within an adopted plan of flood control: To relocate an existing refined petroleum pipeline permitted under Board Permits 3823, 3823-1, 3823-2, and 3823-3 as part of the California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) State Route (SR) 70 Binney Junction Project permitted under Board Permit 19755. The existing pipeline will be abandoned in place in the floodway and beneath both the levee and Union Pacific Railroad 684 and 685 lines and will be removed in sections between the levee and UPRR 685 line and south of the UPRR 685 line. SFPP will install a new 8-inch pressurized welded steel pipeline by the open-cut method by joining the existing pipeline near the northern waterside edge of the UPRR 684 line and will run along the waterside edge of the relocated UPRR 684 line until the line joins the levee, at which point the pipeline will be installed by boring beneath the levee and adjacent UPRR 685 line before surfacing on the landside of the UPRR 685 line.
