Document Description
UC Berkeley would implement the Clean Energy Campus Utility Improvement Project in at least two phases. The campus is now requesting approval for Phase 1 of the project, which would consist of a 38,000 square foot Electrified Heating and Cooling Plant (EHCP) and associated equipment, a Thermal Energy Storage (TES) tank, underground distribution network that would connect the EHCP to approximately 32 campus buildings, converting these buildings to utilize new hot and cold water utilities, upgrades to the campus electrical infrastructure to support increased power needs, and repair and improvements to the campus landscape, pathways, and roadway network in areas affected by construction of the other elements of the project.
