Document Description
Nonstructural Performance Category -5 (NPC-5) represents the highest level of nonstructural seismic compliance, requiring that all critical systems and utilities needed for patient care and safety remain operational after a major earthquake. This includes external connections to public utilities and verification of system operability under post-earthquake conditions. Pursuant to the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA), an Addendum to the 2020 LRDP Update Supplemental EIR (2020 LRDP EIR) has been prepared for NPC Emergency Water Storage Project which evaluated both projects in one document.
The Nonstructural Performance Category Emergency Water Compliance – Acute Care Buildings project includes critical infrastructure necessary to construct underground tanks to store the required emergency potable water for hospital services and industrial water for a wastewater storage system. Project scope includes installation of underground water tanks, a wastewater storage system and associated required bracing and anchorage.
The Nonstructural Performance Category Emergency Water Compliance – None-Acute Care Buildings project consists of critical infrastructure modifications in non-acute care buildings required to ensure patient care is not impacted in the event of a natural disaster. Project scope includes the installation of isolation valves to decouple water lines and reconstruction/reinstatement of approximately 150 lineal feet of water pipe to connect Well #1 to the existing Central Plant.
