Document Description
The California Department of Fish and Wildlife (CDFW) has executed Lake and Streambed Alteration Agreement EPIMS Notification No. EPIMS-MEN-47728-R1C, pursuant to Section 1602 of the Fish and Game Code to Ra’am Akiba-Hajim, representing HGS, LLC dba RES Environmental Operating Company LL.
This agreement authorizes two encroachments to implement the Mendocino Coast Mitigation Bank and includes to implement aquatic habitat restoration actions on the Garcia River floodplain and at the Boer Road crossing. The Garcia River floodplain restoration actions include improving the floodplain connectivity and salmonid habitat, and restoring riparian and wetland habitats by deepening side channels and alcove inlets, constructing new alcove inlets, improving two rocked ford crossings, and decommissioning a portion of Boer oad adjacent to the Garcia River. Improvements to on the upper Boer Road includes the replacement of an existing undersized corrugated metal culvert with a 4-foot wide by 2-foot tall by 50-foot long concrete box culvert with rock armoring at the inlet and outlet, the removal of a spring box and its infrastructure to re-naturalize the spring, recontouring the channel and banks, and planting native riparian and wetland plant species.
