Document Description
The Project is expected to both restore previously degraded riparian habitat, improve stream habitat, and increase the riparian corridor. The Project will do this by installing 27 J-hook structures along an eroding stream bank, constructing a rock riffle, and completing floodplain grading in the Susan River. The purpose of the Project is to promote the stability, health, and vigor of the riparian corridor to enhance dependent species abundance and diversity. These activities will improve habitat for both native fish and wildlife.
On August 16, 2022, the State Water Resources Control Board, acting as a Lead Agency, certified a Program Environmental Impact Report for its Order for Clean Water Act Section 401 Water Quality Certification and Waste Discharge Requirements for Restoration Projects Statewide (Order) (PEIR) and adopted the Order. On August 19, 2026, the Lahontan Regional Water Quality Control Board determined that the Project was within the scope of the PEIR, issued a Notice of Applicability (NOA) authorizing enrollment of the Project under the Order, and filed a Notice of Determination on the CEQAnet Web Portal for that issuance of an NOA.
