Document Description
The project would involve demolition of the existing structures and paving on the site and merging two parcels for the construction of an eight-story, 228-unit building consisting of five stories of rental apartments above one story of rental apartments and garage and two stories of garage and amenity spaces (total of eight stories). The Project is Proposed in Accordance with California Government Code Section 65589.5(d)(5) “Builders Remedy". The project would also include a south-facing courtyard and a roof deck area. The project would include a mix of studio units (19), one-bedroom units (121), two-bedroom units (63), and three-bedroom units (25). Thirteen percent of the base units, or 30 units, would be provided as below market rate units. Vehicular access would be provided from both San Antonio Road
and Leghorn Street.
In accordance with CEQA, the City of Palo Alto prepared a Consistency Evaluation demonstrating that the prior environmental analysis in the original EIR certified in 2020 adequately addresses the potential environmental effects of the project, and the project does not require subsequent environmental review pursuant to CEQA Guidelines Section 15162, and supports the City's finding that the project would not result in significant newissues nor exceed the level of impacts identified in the previously certified 2020 EIR requiring additional analysis under CEQA.
