Document Description
The California Department of Fish and Wildlife (CDFW) has issued an ITP (No. 2081-2025-028-04), pursuant to Section 2081(b) of the Fish and Game Code to the Transportation Agency for Monterey County (TAMC).
The FORTAG California Avenue Segment Project includes construction of a 1.4-mile bicycle and pedestrian path, a segment of the larger FORTAG, as well as installation of stormwater features, lighting, fencing, amenity areas, landscaping areas, and safety related features. The Project will result in impacts to 5.47 acres of Monterey gilia (Gilia tenuiflora ssp. arenaria) habitat consisting of 1.85 acres of permanent impacts and 3.62 acres of temporary impacts. The FORTAG California Avenue Segment Project is expected to result in incidental take of Monterey gilia, which is designated as a threatened species under the California Endangered Species Act (CESA). The ITP referenced above as issued by CDFW authorizes incidental take of species listed under CESA that may occur as a result of Project implementation.
