Document Description
The Humboldt County Resource Conservation District (HCRCD) has prepared a Project-Specific Analysis and Addendum (PSA/Addendum) for the project as a later activity covered by the California Vegetation Treatment Project (CalVTP) Program Environmental Impact Report (EIR). The proposed project aligns with the priorities set forth in the 2019 Humboldt County Community Wildfire Protection Plan (CWPP) (Willow Creek Planning Unit) and the 2020 Trinity County CWPP (relevant to Salyer and Hawkins Bar). The project would occur on 37,739.26 acres of private and State Responsibility Area lands in eastern Humboldt and western Trinity Counties. Initial treatments would be implemented in phases (i.e., as funding and resources allow) as landowner approval and funding sources are available over a 10–15-year period. The Project consists of ecological restoration, fuel breaks, and wildland-urban interface (WUI) fuel reduction treatments. The proposed treatment activities are prescribed burning, mechanical treatments, herbicide, prescribed herbivory, and manual treatments.
