Document Description
The proposed project consists of vegetation treatments on approximately 40,327 acres of the Tehama Wildlife Area to reduce wildfire risk, improve ecological resilience, and support habitat restoration. The proposed treatment types include ecological restoration and fuel breaks. Treatment activities include manual treatments, mechanical treatments, prescribed burning (broadcast and pile burning), herbicide application, and prescribed herbivory. Maintenance treatments may occur using the same treatment types and activities used in the initial treatments. The Resource Conservation District of Tehama County (RCDTC) prepared a Project-Specific Analysis and Addendum (PSA/ Addendum) as a later activity covered by the California Vegetation Treatment Program (CalVTP) Program Environmental Impact Report (EIR). RCDTC is the CEQA Lead Agency for the project and the California Department of Fish and Wildlife (CDFW) is a Responsible Agency and land manager for the Tehama Wildlife Area.
