Document Description
The proposed project comprises vegetation management treatments on up to 1,067
acres of land near the community of Tuolumne City and the Summerville High School property in Tuolumne County. The proposed treatment type (WUI Fuels Reduction) may consist of a combination of treatment activities including mechanical, manual, prescribed burning, prescribed herbivory and herbicide application. The project is anticipated to be completed in two phases. Phase I consists of an herbicide application on about 136 acres which were mechanically treated two years ago. Initial treatments in Phase II is approximately 930 acres and would be a combination of mechanical and manual treatments and the prescribed burning of piles. Maintenance treatments in Phase II would be anticipated to follow at least 2-3 years after initial treatment is completed.
