Document Description
Coastal Conservancy grant to Sempervirens Fund to conduct the Big Basin Redwood Wildfire Resilience Project consists of vegetation treatments and habitat enhancement on 215 acres in the old-growth coast redwood area of Big Basin Redwood State Park in Santa Cruz County. The Big Basin Redwood Wildfire Resilience Project is addressed in the Inland Big Basin Redwoods State Park Forest Health Project Specific Analysis and Addendum. California Department of Parks and Recreation's Inland Big Basin Redwoods State Park Forest Health Project Specific Analysis and Addendum proposes to implement vegetation treatments and maintenance on up to 9,977.25 acres of land within the eastern and inland portion of Big Basin Redwoods State Park in Santa Cruz and San Mateo Counties. California State Parks prepared a Project Specific Analysis and CEQA Addendum to evaluate if the project is within the scope of the CalVTP PEIR, and consider revisions or changes to the PEIR that would expand its coverage to include all project areas and provide information on the proposed project. Treatment types include ecological restoration. Treatment activities include prescribed burning, manual, mechanical, and targeted herbicide applications. The Inland Big Basin Redwoods State Park Forest Health and Resilience Project PSA/Addendum to the PEIR was prepared for the project as a later activity covered by the CalVTP EIR.
