Document Description
The California Department of Forestry and Fire Prevention (CAL FIRE) has identified the need to amend the Oak Ridge VTP PSA, originally approved on 6/9/2025, to include approximately 1,084 additional acres directly adjacent to the existing project footprint. The amended Oak Ridge VTP entails implementation of vegetation treatments on up to 4,992 acres of land in in Fresno County, 14 miles West of Coalinga, CA. The treatment types, treatment activities, and environmental and regulatory conditions within the expanded area are substantially similar to those already analyzed in the Oak Ridge VTP PSA. Based on CAL FIRE review and the nature of the proposed amendment, the inclusion of additional acreage does not constitute a change to the project that would result in new or substantially more severe impacts. Therefore, no further environmental analysis is required under CEQA Guidelines Sections 15162 or 15164.
The project has been designed to avoid type conversion in areas where chaparral is present. Coastal sage scrub plant communities are not present within the project area. In accordance with Public Resources Code Section 4483, CAL FIRE concludes that the project activities will not result in type conversion of chaparral or coastal sage scrub vegetation.
