Document Description
The proposed project includes treatment of up to 20,000 acres of Shaded Fuel Break, Wildland Urban Interface, and Ecological Restoration along Mail Ridge and surrounding areas over 10 years (up to 2,000 acres per year). Proposed treatment activities include mechanical, manual, prescribed fire broadcast burns, prescribed fire pile burns, prescribed herbivory, and herbicide application. The Humboldt County Resource Conservation District (HCRCD) has prepared a Project Specific Analysis (PSA) under the Program Environmental Impact Report (PEIR) for the California Vegetation Treatment Program (CalVTP) to evaluate if the proposed project is within the scope of the CalVTP PEIR, and provide environmental information to the RCD and CALFIRE in compliance with CEQA. Proposed treatment activities are mechanical and manual treatments, prescribed herbivory, herbicide and prescribed burning (broadcast and pile burning).
