Document Description
The California Department of Fish and Wildlife (CDFW) has executed Lake and Streambed Alteration Agreement EPIMS-TRI-23346-R1I, pursuant to Fish and Game Code section 1602, to the project Applicant, Zay Xiong.
The project is limited to ongoing year-round use of an existing shallow seep well for domestic purposes, including household use for four people and a vegetable garden/orchard. The well consists of a corrugated metal pipe, approximately 36-inches in diameter and dug 10-12 feet deep. The volume of water to be diverted per year is approximately 0.77 acre-feet.
A small unimproved Class III stream crossing used to access the groundwater well, which will be used for commercial cannabis irrigation, will be improved by creating a defined rolling dip and armoring with 6-inch riprap above and below the road prism and placing two-three inches of gravel through the crossing to create a rocked ford. This armored fill crossing will be installed to allow surface flows to remain in the channel while minimizing sedimentation and additional scour during a 100-year storm event. The plans for construction follow recommendations from the Handbook of Forest, Ranch, and Rural Roads for rocked fords.
