Document Description
The California Department of Fish and Wildlife (CDFW) has executed Lake and Streambed Alteration Agreement EPIMS Notification No. EPIMS-MAN-34583-R3, pursuant to Section 1602 of the Fish and Game Code to the City of Novato.
The Project is limited to replacement of an existing drainage outfall, placement of rock slop protection (RSP), and vegetation thinning and removal along Novato Creek bank. The outfall consists of a 24-inch diameter polyvinyl chloride pipe that will be replaced at one foot depth lower than the existing pipe. Construction of the new drainage outfall will include digging a temporary 8 foot wide by 22 foot long trench, resulting in 12 square feet of temporary impacts to Novato Creek bank and 176 square feet of temporary impacts to riparian vegetation, totaling 188 square feet for temporary impacts. There will be a total of 3 square feet and 1 linear foot of permanent impacts to Novato Creek bank by the removal and replacement of RSP. Tree of heaven (Ailanthus altissima) and French broom (Genista monospessulana), which are non-native and invasive species, and an ornamental fruit tree (Prunus sp.) will be removed within the riparian woodland. No in-water work will occur.
