Document Description
The project (MAR.D2026-0002) is for the review of proposed alterations to City Park, which is listed on the City of Corona Register of Historic Resources as a historic district (HD-005). The alterations to the park are proposed as part of the City Park Revitalization Project, which includes the construction of a new community center, aquatic center, new landscaping, pedestrian pathways, parking lots, large open-air event area ("Community Canvas"), playgrounds, fitness and sports courts, and other improvements including updated supporting infrastructure. The project also includes the preservation, relocation, and replacement of several existing trees within the park, as well as the preservation of four historic resources within the park.
Pursuant to CEQA Guidelines Section 15164, an Addendum to the certified 2020-2040 General Plan Environmental Impact Report was prepared to analyze the potential environmental impacts of the proposed alterations and improvements to City Park. Based on the analysis in the Addendum, the City determined that the proposed City Park alterations and improvements would not result in any new significant environmental impacts or substantially increase the severity of impacts previously identified in the previously certified EIR.
