Document Description
The California Department of Fish and Wildlife (CDFW) has executed Lake and Streambed Alteration Agreement EPIMS Notification No. EPIMS-SOL-59220-R3, pursuant to Section 1602 of the Fish and Game Code to Pacific Gas and Electric Company (PG&E). The Project is limited to the replacement and removal of existing culverts and improvements to existing stream crossings. Crossing 1: The existing failed 12-inch diameter corrugated metal culvert will be removed and replaced with 2.15 cubic yards of fill to create a rock ford crossing. All work will take place within the existing road prism. Crossing 2: The existing failed 12-inch diameter corrugated metal culvert will be removed and replaced with 10.9 cubic yards of fill to create a rock ford crossing. Crossing 3: The two existing 36-inch diameter corrugated metal culverts will be removed and replaced with 36-inch diameter high density polyethylene (HDPE) culverts. Crossing 4: The existing 24-inch diameter HDPE culverts will remain in place with the addition of a vented rock ford crossing system to accommodate for 100 year flows. The culverts will be retrofitted with an extension on both the upstream and down stream ends. The upstream ends will extend into the channel an additional 4 feet, and the down stream ends will extend an additional 5.5 feet. The roadway above Crossing 4 (extending out to Crossing 3) will be resurfaced to create a rolling dip by depressing the surface by 2 feet and lining with a 12-inch thick layer of 6-inch minus rock. This rolling dip will work in conjunction with Crossings 3 and Crossing 4 to convey the remainder of the flows from the 100-year event (vented ford). The Project will result in a total of 231 square feet (0.0053 acres, and 30 linear feet) of temporary impacts to stream and associated wetland habitat, and a total of 2,439 square feet (0.056 acres, and 46 linear feet) of permanent impacts to stream and associated wetland habitat.
