Document Description
The City of Yreka (City), as Lead Agency, prepared an Initial Study (IS) and adopted a Mitigated Negative Declaration (MND) for the Yreka Water Supply and Storage Improvements Project on December 21, 2017 (State Clearinghouse No. 2017112029). The project is located within the City of Yreka and in an unincorporated area of Siskiyou County. The project consists of improvements to the City’s existing public water system, including replacement of existing water tanks, installation of new water mains, and construction of a new well and associated improvements. Following approval of the project, City staff and PACE Engineering determined that revisions to the project were needed. The proposed revised improvements include new alignments for the water main and electrical conduit at the Lower Humbug Water Tank site; potential improvements to an existing access road to the Shasta Belle Water Tank site; and repaving the existing parking lot and installing new underground electrical conduit at the Davis Well site. This document constitutes an Addendum to the 2017 IS/MND and evaluates whether the revised improvements would result in any new or substantially more adverse significant effects or require any new mitigation measures not identified in the 2017 MND. The revised improvements are as follows: Lower Humbug Water Tank Site: Revised improvements include relocating a ~450-foot section of water main and installing ~715 feet of new underground electrical conduit at the site. Shasta Belle Water Tank Site: The additional study area includes a ~800-foot section of an existing access road. Potential improvements would be limited to placement of aggregate base within the roadway. No trees would need to be removed. Davis Well Site: Revised improvements include repaving the existing ~0.4-acre parking lot and installing ~500 feet of new underground electrical conduit.
