Document Description
Pacific Gas and Electric Company (PG&E) is receiving a temporary amendment to the water quality certification (certification) for the Poe Hydroelectric Project (Project; Federal Energy Regulatory Commission [FERC] Project No. 2107). The temporary amendment would allow for a one-time minimum instream flow variance of 100 cubic feet per second in the North Fork Feather River below Poe Dam from June 1 to November 15, 2025, to complete dam safety maintenance on the radial bypass gate, specifically, recoating the gate, replacing seals, and replacing the hoist and controls of Poe Dam. This work is needed to address public safety and recommendations from the Department of Water Resources Division of Safety of Dams (DSOD). Because lowering MIF will impact tributary access monitoring, PG&E proposes to delay monitoring until the next Critically Dry water year type if 2025 is classified as a Critically Dry water year.
