Document Description
The San Diego Water Board issued a Clean Water Act section 401 water quality certification (Certification No. R9-2026-0034) to the Project Applicant to improve existing recreational facilities due to anticipated rise in water levels from the implementation of the City’s Pure Water program. The existing facilities include the courtesy dock, boat dock, timber walkway, and three fishing piers.
The Discharger proposes to remove the aluminum brows (connecting the floating docks and piers to land) and replace with longer brows on the landward side. The fishing piers and docks will also be floated to the boat ramp and removed, as will a portion of the timber walkway. New concrete brow footings will be placed on the landward side of the current brow placements. The project will add new brow support docks, floats, roller connections between brow floats, and flexible connections between docks. Existing docks and piers will be reattached to the new brows and brow support docks. The height of the timber walkway’s existing support posts will be increased and the walkway rebuilt with a section widened up to five feet.
The total size of the entire area for all Project activities is 0.96 acres. Construction is expected to begin March 2026 and end March 2031.
Project activities will not result in permanent impacts to aquatic resources under the jurisdiction of the San Diego Water Board.
