Document Description
This proposed project involves the permanent development of 4.61 acres, of which 4.35 acres is undeveloped land, into a 20,400-square-foot (sf) fire station, 27,000-sf regional library, on-site parking lot, extensions of Dutton Avenue and the Colgan Creek Multi-Use Path, bioretention areas, and landscaping. Temporary material stockpiling and staging will occur on 0.30 acre of undeveloped land. Therefore, the total Project footprint will be 4.91 acres. Project activities include using heavy equipment to grub and grade the entire Project site, utility trench digging, paving, landscaping, and other activities.
The Project will result in impacts to 4.65 acres of California tiger salamander (Ambystoma californiense) habitat including temporary impacts to 0.30 acre and permanent impacts to 4.35 acres. The Project is expected to result in incidental take of California tiger salamander, which is designated as a threatened species under CESA. The ITP referenced above as issued by CDFW authorizes incidental take of species listed under CESA that may occur as a result of Project implementation.
