Document Description
The Project involves the construction and operation of a 20-megawatt (MW) photovoltaic (PV) solar energy-generating facility on 75.5 acres of California State Lands Commission property. The Project consists of site preparation, road construction, electrical collection system installation, PV solar array and infrastructure installation, substation construction within the adjacent Solar Electric Photo Voltaic Mojave West substation area, perimeter fence installation, and Operations and Maintenance. The Project is expected to result in incidental take of the State candidate western burrowing owl (Athene cunicularia hypugaea) which is protected under the California Endangered Species Act (CESA). The Project is expected to cause permanent impacts to 79.5 acres of occupied habitat for western burrowing owl. The ITP referenced above as issued by CDFW authorizes incidental take of species listed under CESA that may occur as a result of Project implementation.
