Document Description
Replacement of the Blossom Valley Reservoir (BVR) consists of two primary improvements: (1) demolition of the existing BVR and access road; and (2) construction of the new tank and access road. Demolition of the existing BVR would include demolition of the entire reservoir itself, as well as the access road and other asphalt concrete pavement, perimeter chain link fence and gates, groundwater monitoring well, AC drainage swales, and piping. The new tank would be a 3.25-MG, cylindrical, prestressed concrete tank with an inside diameter of 146 feet and a height of 30 feet. It would be partially buried, with 20 feet of the structure height below finished grade and would be centered within the existing reservoir location. The Labrador Lane pipeline crossing involves installation of approximately 1,800 feet of new 20-inch cement mortar lined and coated (CMLC) steel pipe that would connect to an existing 24-inch pipeline in Olde Highway 80, run northeast through Labrador Lane, cross perpendicularly under I-8 via jack and bore methods with a 30-inch steel casing, and re-connect to an existing 33-inch pipeline in Flinn Springs Road.
