Document Description
The Project is limited to two encroachments. One encroachment is for a pond spillway upgrade. Work for the pond spillway upgrade will include excavation of fill in the current spillway footprint approximately 2-feet deep. The old 6” culvert shall be removed, and the new spillway will be designed as a rock-lined spillway. The rocked spillway shall have slopes no greater than 3:1. Mean diameter of riprap shall be 0.9-feet. Spillway width shall be, at a minimum, 4-feet and be placed on approximately 2-feet deep riprap. Work for this project will require removal and displacement of approximately 23-cubic yards of fill and 240 square feet of overall disturbance. A pipe placed at the bottom of the pond and running through the fill to the outside shall be cut as close as possible to the pond bank fill and then capped. The second proposed encroachment is to fully decommission an existing stream crossing. Work for this encroachment will include excavation and removal of a concrete wall on the downstream side, and removal of existing fill to match natural grade and channel depth. Slopes shall be laid back at 2:1 slope. Channel width shall remain approximately 5 feet, and the depth excavated down will be approximately 2.5 feet. Decommissioning and restoration of the channel at this site requires excavation and displacement of approximately 5.8-cubic yards and 575 square feet of disturbance. Disturbed areas shall have erosion control applied and the decommissioned road surface shall be hydrologically disconnected and vegetated.
