Document Description
Title Cont: Species Act Incidental Take Permit No. 2081-2015-008-06 (ITP) Amendment 1)
This proposed Project involves extension of the ITP’s expiration date to allow Permittee to meet the ITP’s mitigation requirements by conveying 149 acres of
Habitat Management (HM) lands to California State Parks in fee simple to be managed by California State Parks pursuant to a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with CDFW.
The Project will result in impacts to 39.4 acres of Agassiz’s desert tortoise (Gopherus
agassizii) and Mohave ground squirrel (Xerospermophilus mohavensis) habitat. The
Project will permanently remove 39.4 acres of Agassiz’s desert tortoise and Mohave
ground squirrel and habitat. The Project is expected to result in incidental take of
Agassiz’s desert tortoise and Mohave ground squirrel, which are designated as an
endangered and threatened species, respectively under the California Endangered
Species Act. The ITP referenced above as issued by CDFW authorizes incidental take of species listed under CESA that may occur as a result of Project implementation.
