Document Description
The Project consists of a Major Use Permit (MUP) and a Reclamation Plan. The MUP will mine approximately 674,00 cubic yards (CY) of material, 632,000 CY sand and 42,000 CY topsoil out of the entire 27.58 acre Project site. The extraction areas will have 1.5:1 cut slopes down to the groundwater level and 3:1 to 3.5:1 slopes below the water table during the extraction process. Sand mining will occur primarily in deep pits over a 17.87-acre portion of the 27.58 area with a maximum depth of extraction to elevation above 415 Mean Sea Level (MSL). Topsoil mining will occur in the upper four feet of the sand pits and the remainder of the Project site. Approximately 677,000 CY of clean and inert soil, rock, and concrete will be imported and recycled for use as on-site fill, channel rip-rap, and for sale. Sand and topsoil extraction and site reclamation will occur in six phases over a 15-year period. Reclamation of each extraction area will occur concurrent with the completion of each extraction phase. Phase 6 includes the five-year monitoring of Phase 5 reclamation.
