Document Description
West Bay Exploration proposes to drill a new well on the "Black Stone" lease near McKittrick CA. This exploratory well is located outside of CalGEM defined field boundaries (i.e. "Any Field"). A new well pad will be constructed to facilitate the drilling of the single new well to a targeted depth of 3000'. A drilling rig will be temporarily mobilized to site with necessary ancillary equipment to accomplish the drilling and casing of the well. Following drilling, a wellhead will be installed on the cased well and all surface equipment will be demobilized leaving only the constructed pad with a single wellhead located thereon. Total project duration is expected to be 3 weeks following commencement. Project Location Dimensions: 41307 sqft / 0.948 acre Fresh water required is to mix drilling mud and primary cement (~ 1270 bbls) which will be sourced from a regional freshwater supplier. A closed loop mud system will be used, and following drilling, used mud will be disposed at a commercial waste facility approved for such activities. Drill cuttings will undergo environmental lab analysis and, following approval/clearance by the receptor, be transported to the end dump location. Fresh water will also be used for dust control in accordance with the MMRP. No surface facilities are associated with this project.
