Document Description
This is the Metro Gold Line Eastside Access Phase II Calvary Cemetery Pedestrian Path project and it is within the scope of the East Los Angeles 3rd Street Plan. The project involves widening the existing sidewalk around the perimeter of Calvary Cemetery to create a new rubberized pedestrian path. Improvements include pedestrian lighting, landscaping, relocation/updating of streetlights, reconstruction of drainage facilities, and appurtenant work. Various trees will be removed and replaced. No permanent right-of-way acquisition is required. Additionally, a road diet will be implemented on Downey Road between Whittier Boulevard and 3rd Street to improve safety and mobility.
