Document Description
The project involves the construction, operation, and decommissioning of an up to 100 megawatt (MW) photovoltaic (PV) solar power-generating facility. The project was originally part of the project as described in ITP No. 2081-2015-026-04. The project as addressed in the ITP includes an approximately 677 acre solar site, access roads, onsite offices and facilities, and undeveloped land for a total project area of 715.16 acres. The Project will result in impacts to desert tortoise (Gopherus agassizii) and Mohave ground squirrel (Spermophilus mohavensis) habitat. The Project is expected to result in incidental take of desert tortoise and Mohave ground squirrel, which is designated as endangered and as threatened species, respectively, under CESA. The ITP issued by CDFW authorizes incidental take of species listed under CESA which may occur as a result of Project implementation. Major Amendment No. 2 includes a segment of new permanent desert tortoise fencing along the west side of Parcel 49, and the construction, restoration, and compensatory mitigation of a 4-acre staging area/parking lot.
