Document Description
The California Department of Fish and Wildlife (CDFW) has executed Lake and Streambed Alteration Agreement EPIMS Notification No. EPIMS-SON-41605-R3, pursuant to Section 1602 of the Fish and Game Code to Sonoma Public Infrastructure. The Project includes demolition of the existing three-span bridge over Sonoma Creek, which measures 170 feet long and 24 feet wide, and replacement with a new three-span pre-stressed concrete bridge in the same location and alignment that will measure 180 feet long and 32 feet wide. A temporary gravel work pad within the creek channel and a temporary diversion will be needed to construct the new piers and dismantle the existing bridge. The total length of the temporary diversion will be approximately 120 linear feet and will cover up to 0.08 acres of the channel of Sonoma Creek. Construction within the dewatered portion of Sonoma Creek will be completed within one season from June 15 through October 15. The Project will result in approximately 0.08 acres of permanent impacts to riparian habitat from new RSP placement, approximately 0.08 acres of temporary impacts to riparian habitat from construction of the temporary access road and temporary work pad, and approximately 0.08 acres of temporary impacts to aquatic habitat from dewatering. The Project will also result in the removal of six riparian trees.
