                Document Description

This proposed project involves construction of a northern and southern staging area (Garms Staging Area and Tyler Ranch Staging Area), an access road connecting the Garms Staging Area to an existing road, and 17 stream/swale crossings and two free-span bridges that will occur along the span of approximately 8.7 miles of new trails to be constructed.
The project will result in impacts 13.88 acres of habitat of California tiger salamander (Ambystoma californiense) and Alameda whipsnake (Masticophis lateralis euryxanthus) habitat including conversion of 8.57 acres of grassland habitat; the project will permanently remove 5.31 acres of California tiger salamander and Alameda whipsnake habitat. The project is expected to result in incidental take of California tiger salamander and Alameda whipsnake, which are designated as threatened species under CESA. The ITP referenced above as issued by CDFW authorizes incidental take of species listed under CESA that may occur as a result of project implementation.
