Document Description
The California Department of Water Resources has executed a contract with the U.S. Bureau of Reclamation to relocate the San Joaquin River Below Bifurcation (SJB) stream gage as part of the California Stream Gage Improvement Program. The existing gage will be relocated directly across the river from the existing gage. The new site will include a 3'x3' concrete pad with a <3' diameter corrugated steel pipe and cover to house the equipment. Two 20-30' pipes (4" dia.) will extend from the concrete pad to the river with up to 8 metal posts driven 18" into the ground to support the pipes. A 15' pole will be attached to the station to mount a solar panel and satellite antenna. All work will be done with hand tools and vegetation removal will consist of grasses, nettles, and cockle burrs.
